TwO YeArS AgO ToDaY

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." - Matt 19:14

Two years ago today a brilliant, blue eyed boy was born to one of my dearest friends and her husband. We celebrated, we rejoiced, and we kissed his lil cheeks til he couldn't stand it anymore. Four months after that, he was taken to Heaven. We cried, we hugged, we grieved in different ways...If you are one of my faithful readers you know Ayden almost as well as I do...I like to wright of him often...I like to remind everyone of the precious gift he was and continues to be. He will never be forgotten.

I fight the urge to go to 'the pit' on occassion. I went there once...for too long...and when my wonderful Jesus had taught me what he wanted me to know, 14 months later, He pulled me out. Today was bittersweet. At some moments, I wanted to give in to darkness...at other moments, I wanted to cry tears of joy as I could see Ayden's sweet face and imagine the angels celebrating him in Heaven as we celebrate him on earth.

Last year, Lindsay and Jeremy started the tradition of releasing balloons on his birthday. I love this idea - like we get to help decorate for his birthday party with Jesus. How sweet would it be to celebrate with Jesus? With each passing day Lindsay and Jeremy get more and more excited...because they are one day closer to being reunited with him.

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Ayden! Today, I think my God for you. You helped your mommy and I's friendship grow even stronger. You showed me what unconditional love was. I tell people about you all the time. You are our Forever Angel...and will NEVER be forgotten.
